If you’re coming to study or work in Australia depending on your visa type, Australia is well known for its beautiful land, world class study options, strong economy for jobs, rich culture and most of all Australian people are among the most outgoing and friendly people in the world which makes your experiences very accommodating. Australia is known as the promise land or the land of opportunity. When choosing to come to Australia to live, study or work, we will help you select what cities are best suited to your budget, goals and most importantly value for money. Each city has its advantages and disadvantages depending on what your goals are. Share with other students to save money, hunt for a part time job as soon as you receive your tax file number and put money back in your pocket after the first 2 weeks of arrival. Australia can be expensive you you do not plan. There is of course a lot of cheap options and discounts to explore if you do your research.

Accommodation

There are many options available in all cities depending on your budget. We always recommend to have 1 to 2 weeks cheap short stay accommodation booked when you first arrive in Australia. This will allow you to settle and find your orientation and explore many of our partner Accommodation options and research online to get a good deal. We work with Accommodation partners that offer, Homestay (to stay with an Australian Family), Shared accommodation with other students. If you feel sure you can do your research and find many fantastic deals online such as Gumtree.com.au. Based on our experience its best to see and get a feel of the place before making a decision, that’s why its important to explore and research once you are here. We also offer Airport pick up services to be taken directly to your accommodation without complications. A good start is a cheap lodge, backpackers or cheap hotel then move into a shared place with other students.  Share accommodation provides a way of spending less and save money. You do not pay for any extra bills.

Homestay = $220 – $280 per week

Shared  = $160 to $210 per week

Private  = $100 – $220 per week

Real estate rentals = $250 +

Airport pickup = $80 to $120

It is no doubt that Australia has one of the highest living standards in the world and jobs that pay very well. From Part time employment to full time employment  Australia has options for all different people depending what are your plans and survival strategies. We of course point out that you should not expect  to land the job of your dreams from the moment you land in Australia. Some students find work within the first few days of arriving and other students never get a job. This depends on the individual. careful planning ans strategy is needed to succeed. see our work section for more information.

Australia is set out by an Award rate for most industries and employers must pay the minimum award rate. by law. For part time work expect to pay the following:

Hospitality kitchen hand = $14 – $18

Waiter = $15 to 20 plus tips

Cleaning = $14 to $24

Factory and service work = $18 to $27

Retail = $18 to $22

Managers = $22 to $25

Professionals = $25 to $35

Getting around has never been easier. All forms of transport exist in and around the city. Best form of transport is bus and train. most cities have affordable rail network connecting you to all major areas. Buses are also available for cheap travel if you do not live near the train station. We recommend you stay walking distance to the train station. Melbourne has one of the oldest tram systems in the world running all over Melbourne for a cheap price to jump on and jump off.

Australia has about 4 major domestic Airlines for cheap internal flights. People regularly travel between cities from Sydney to Gold coast or Melbourne to Gold coast for Example. Prices are very cheap and for example you can find a tiger Airways flight from Sydney to Gold Coast for $60 AUD  one way. Water ferries and water taxis re also available to go around and over the habour in Sydney. taxi themselves can be expensive but obviously the most convenient from of getting around easily.
